Our Camps & Outposts
Arctic hunts are often physically demanding and require careful preparation to ensure a safe and successful hunt.
It's extremely important that the base camp can provide all the essential comforts of home to ensure a successful hunt.
Our base camp at henik lake is just that, an important base of operations. Henik Lake is centrally located at the northern most limits of the tree-line with an airstrip, good fishing for Lake trout, arctic grayling, and northern pike as well as an important caribou crossing for the over half a million-strong Qamanirjuaq Caribou Herd.

For any hunter not familiar with hunting in the arctic, it is important to recognize that the arctic is a vast area and animals are always on the move. In light of this reality, we have a base camp that provides all the comforts of home with a strategic location so that we can move with the herds or put you on the game to ensure high success.
Flexibility and mobility are key factors to ensure a successful hunt. One day you may be at our base camp and the next day, you may be in a tent camp 50 miles away with hundreds of caribou outside your tent. The movements of arctic animals are unpredictable. Outpost camps allow us to move clients to the vicinity of game regardless of their movements.
We can quickly deploy hunters by aircraft, all-terrain vehicles (ATV's) or by boat.
All our camps and outposts have good food, comfortable accommodations, experienced guides, and an arctic wilderness that is wild, untamed and unspoiled. We are the first outfitter in the eastern arctic to invest a significant amount of resources to establish the infrastructure and equipment to give you a safe and successful hunt and/or fishing adventure.
We are committed to building the most reputable, experienced and successful outfitting company in the eastern arctic region of Nunavut, Canada.
We live, work, hunt and fish in the arctic all year around.
Sincerely,
Ryan & Dorothy St. John
